Security

A straight answer when something feels off.

Call 1-877-GO-4-NECB ((877) 464-6322) any time. Card services is (866) 392-9952. This center replaces a single fraud article with the paths a customer actually needs.

How we will contact you

NECB will not ask for your password, full Social Security number, or a one-time code by email or text that you did not request. When in doubt, hang up and call the number on the back of your card.

Identity theft

Place a fraud alert or credit freeze with the bureaus. Then call us so we can lock cards and watch the deposit accounts. Bring a police report to a branch if one exists.

Common scams

A text about a locked account with a link. A caller who already knows the last four of your card. A check that is larger than the sale and asks you to wire the difference. Those are not NECB.

If a card is missing

Lock it in online banking, then call card services at (866) 392-9952. Debit disputes are covered by Regulation E — report promptly. The error-resolution address in production belongs on this page and on statements.

Mobile deposit fraud

Endorse every check “For Mobile Deposit Only at NECB.” Do not also deposit it at another bank or ATM.

Email

Messages to customercare@necb.com are not secure. Use secure messaging after sign-in for anything about an account.

Report a concern

Do not include account numbers or a Social Security number. Say what happened and how to reach you.
